I've been so excited looking through this new catalogue as my mind immediately started buzzing with ideas for creating for Christmas.
The catalogue is full of ideas for you to try too. Also some of the pages in the catalogue feature a Stampin' Up! Interactive icon, which means there's a video showing additional product details. You can find this at stampinup.com/showmehow_uk. There are at least 20 different instructional videos on this page now, so do pop over and have a look.
Here is one showing you the new Simply Create Christmas Banner:

You can view the catalogue online here, or you can order a copy from me. You can also place your orders through me, so drop me an email at ruthmpearson@gmail.com.

LNS Fall Treasure Hunt 2013

I have joined a group called Positively Late Night Stampers (LNS). It's a group run by an incredibly friendly, supportive and inspiring group of  Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and they have organised this fun for you.

Would you like to win a Prize? Then join our TREASURE HUNT.
There are 3 Countries participating - USA, Canada and UK, and each of those countries are offering their own prizes.
I am offering a prize for someone who enters this Treasure Hunt and lives in the UK.

Will it be you? (Please note that prizes mentioned on blogs in the US and Canada will be of significantly higher value due to the large number of participating demonstrators on that continent).

It's not too late for any other UK Demos to join us if they have a blog. Email me for more details if you're a UK Demo interested in participating

Here is how you play this Treasure Hunt:
  1. Visit each of the blogs (in all 3 countries) listed below (although not necessary, it would be appreciated if you had time to leave a wee comment)
  2. All the participating Treasure Hunt players will have this picture and they will list their clue.
  3. Make a note of what the clue is, and also whose blog it is on.
  4. You have from today Tuesday 20th August until Friday October 25th to collect at least 50 clues from all the blogs and say where you found it.
  5.  If you live in the  UK, please email your entry to me at ruthmpearson@gmail.com. by Friday October 25th at 8am GMT (that's midnight PST). If you live in US or Canada, please send your entry to the Coordinator from your country.
So for everyone living in the UK, I will pass on all correct UK entries to Lesley Lendon, our UK Coordinator (thank you so much for kindly volunteering Lesley) and you'll be entered in the UK drawing on October 28th 2013 and the winner announced on 28th October 2013

Celebrating 32 years of marriage!

Hello... yes, it's 32 years since we were married. We exchanged cards and went out for a lovely relaxed meal and spent the evening reminiscing. Here is the card I made for my husband
Happy Anniversary! xx

Materials used:
Stamp sets: Hearts a Flutter and Hostess set: Sweetly Framed
Card stock: Brushed Silver and Naturals White
Ink: Versamark
Silver Embossing Powder
Framelits: Hearts a Flutter Dies
Buttons: Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons
Basic Pearls, Basic Rhinestones Jewel Accents
Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon

Now I know this may not interest everyone, but it's been a busy week here on the Farm. It's that exciting time of the year when suddenly all seems well with the world and there is an excited noisy, dusty buzz in the air and everyone is happy and goes around saying how thankful they are. The Buzzards and Red Kites are hovering and swooping around the field too.
It's harvest time! and they are busy working in  the barley field outside the house today. I took a few photos from one of the bedroom windows and thought I'd share some here

I hope you weren't too bored with the Harvest Time photos, but I'll be back with some crafting photos another day. Until then...

Ruth xx

The Perfect Blend after 20 years!

Hello Crafters. It was my Brother and Sister-in-law's 20th Wedding Anniversary this week. Now my brother is a coffee addict and I personally think he's Starbuck's best customer (and probably Nespresso too!). They meet up with friends in Starbucks most Fridays after work, so when Stampin' Up! released this new stamp set called Perfect Blend, I knew it was perfect for this special couple. Here's the card I made for them.
Perfect Blend

Do you love this stamp set too? If you are interested in ordering the set, please contact me.

Some more Cards, as promised.

six-sided sampler!

I'm always making stacks of Thank You cards, so this was one of my latest cards. I love this Six-sided Sampler Stamp set. There are so many different things I can do with this set, soI started simple. I wanted to play with some of my new In-Colour inks and card, so used Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar. The embossing folder gives such a gorgeous deep impression, that I keep stroking over the surface (sad, but true!).

washi tape
I'm not so happy with this card, but love the colours. The Washi Tape is great fun either for ripping or cutting. I also tried the new Gingham Wheel for the first time, but forgot about the seam, as usually I make sure it's at the start of my line. Now I know the gingham line looks squint, but it is the photo that makes it look like that. I'm not getting any better with my photos grrr!

Mosaic Madness Stamp set and matching Punch and Embossing Folder
Now this is very quick and simple to make using the Mosaic Madness stamp set, punch and embossing folder - all matching! I added some Pistachio Pudding Ink and cardstock to give the card a calming look. I'm absoloutely loving the new In-Colours for 2013-15. What's your favourite colour? I love them all. They still make me think of  our local retro Ice Cream Parlour!

Thank you for your visit, please call back soon,

A few cards from the new Catalogue

These were some of the cards I had originally made for the ILWS Blog Hop, but couldn't load, so I was forced to use one of my drafts, that I always save for if I'm stuck, and just changed the wording.

Anyway, this first card would be perfect for my brother who is probably on of Starbucks best customers. It uses the new Perfect Blend stamp set
Label Love stamp set
Artisan Label Punch
Argyle Embossing Folder,
Quadrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper,
Pool Party Cardstock,
Pool Party Ink Pad.
Basic Black Ink Pad
Perfect Blend

This card uses the gorgeous new Hostess Stamp Set called Simply Sketched,
Primrose Petals Cardstock
Watercolor Paper
Stazon Black Ink Pad
Primrose Petals Ink Pad
Aqua Painter
Stamping Sponges
Simply Pressed Clay
Simply Pressed Blossom Mold
Label Love stamp set
Artisan Label Punch
Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape
Ovals Collection Framelits
Simply Sketched
You can email me if you would like to host a party in your own home so you can earn this Hostess Stamp Set for FREE, and we can arrange a convenient date and time for your party.

This card uses the great large stamp called Wildflower Meadow coloured with Stampin' Color Marker pens  direct onot the stamp and stamping onto Whisper White Cardstock, matting a slightly larger rectangle of Quadrefancy Specialty DSP onto Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock.  I also had a fantastic fun time playing with the new Simply Pressed Clay and Button and Blossom molds. I created the 3 flower embellishments in the top right corner with the Blossom Mold, then I used a Sponge Dauber and Bermuda Bay ink to ink the pretty Clay embellishments. For the greeting, I used another new Hostess Stamp set called Sweetly Framed. I layered a line of the red Sticky Strip with Dazzling Diamonds glitter for a sweet sparkle.
Wildflower Meadow

I will share the next 3 cards tomorrow, so please pop back for a quick look then.

ILWS New Annual Catalogue 2013 Blog Hop!

Hello and a huge warm welcome to the ILWS Blog Hop to showcase ideas and products from the fantastic 2013 Annual Catalogue, which is jam-packed full of exciting crafting goodies for you all.
If you have been hopping through the blogs, you should have arrived from Emily's blog. Aren't her designs great? She used my favourite Chalk Talk set. Now, frustratingly,. I haven't been able to load the photos I wanted to share with you, so I will share these ones instead.

Not my best effort I know, but here we go.  Now we've had a busy month of Family occasions  with my two eldest Sons and daughter-in-laws. I thought I'd share some of the cards I've made. A word of warning though - think Punch Art and Shoes!!!!

It was the birthdays of the newly wed couples.First it was Nathan's birthday, so I used the stamp set Rev it Up!  I know it's scruffy looking, but it is very relevant to Nathan hee hee!

Now this card is perfect for all shoe lovers!!!!  A few days later, the next birthday was my lovely new Daughter-in-law Katie and I knew this card had to be the one for her as it's a beautiful SHOE, using brushed silver card, Fabulous You stamp set and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I really love the elegance of this card.
closer view

This card was for Daniel & Anne  (my eldest Son & Daughter-in-law) who have just moved out of the city to their first home in the country. If you pull the roof out, you can read the message inside the house. The white envelope ties in with the card.
I used the instructions from the Moving House tutorial created by the talented  Lori Heiling on Ustampwithdawnandfriends blog hop back in 2011.

Now this is not from the new Catalogue, but I'm sharing it as I did make it at the same time. A few days later it was Anne's birthday, so I made this card for her using up a few left over pieces from the Spring/summer catalogue and a well-used shoe template I had purchased many years ago.I know this is not from the new catalogue, but am sharing it purely because I made it in July with the other cards.

Daniel and Anne have also just celebrated their first Wedding Anniversary. I thought I'd make this Punch Art Card I'd seen here on Pinterest as they both love VW's and other classic cars. Daniel rescued a very old VW bug that had been cut in half and turned into a BBQ trailer. This card uses some of the gorgeous new in-colours Stampin' Up! have just released for 2013-15 and also the new stamp set Label Love and matching punch.

2 of Daniel and Anne's cars they used on their Wedding day last summer.
The last occasion was Daniel's 30th Birthday which again due to being short of time, I made another Punch Art card (notice a trend here?) Up until life took over, he was addicted to playing Angry Birds for a long time, so when I came across this card on a lovely blog http://stampinwithniki.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/angry-birds-tutorial.html, I knew this was for him. It appealed to his sense of humour.

Now at the last second, I've managed to load the photos I wanted to share with you, so will show you them  tomorrow! Is that okay? It's worth coming back for a visit.

Thank you for visiting today, I hope you have been inspired by my busy month of family cards. Please call by my blog again soon. I'm working on a printer's tray in the new In-colours, but haven't managed to finish it today, so hopefully can share this next week.

Now you can hop over to Jane's blog and see the exciting goodies she has to show you.

Saturday 27 April 2013

To a very special couple...

My lovely son and his beautiful fiance were married last Saturday (I've added a photo at the bottom of this post). It was 7 years to the day since Nathan asked Katie on a date and 2 years to the day since he proposed and Katie said 'Yes!'. Katie is a beautiful girl anyway, but she was incredibly stunning on Saturday (I don't think I'm biased!). They are so well matched and are perfect for each other. I  wanted to make them a special card to let them know how much we love them and are so proud of them.both. I knew Nathan would be wearing his kilt outfit, but I'd no clue what Katie's Wedding Dress was going to be like, but looked out my Stampin' Up! Artisan Embellishment kit and some favourite discontinued DSP I'd been saving for an extra special card

Front of Card when closed

Envelope made with Simply Scored Diagonal Plate

I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw the dies that the talented Karen Burniston designed exclusively for Stampin' Up!.  She even has some instructional videos on how to use the dies too.
The dies are called the Card Base Pop'n Cuts (with the slits in the corners for closing the card) and the Dress Form Pop 'n Cuts insert and also the Dress Up framelits.

I thought I'd finish with a picture of the gorgeous Bride and Groom
